The first color shots out of my Holga are finally done and scanned and I am in love (again). Unfortunately medium format color film is pretty pricey but I will have to splurge on it once in a while I think.
These were all taken at the last rodeo at the barn:
Aching feet after a day’s riding:
Yummy candy for sale:
The oppressive heat we’ve been having has been hard on the horseys as well, with little shade and lots of flies on their pastures:
And, to save the best for last (something I always find very hard to do…anyone seen the movie ‘Remember Me’? I have my dessert first too):
Beautiful. Don’t you just love Holga pics?

Thanks Dennis 🙂 Definitely, the Holga just has a magic of its own! Film in general though…that last shot just would not have been technically possible with a digital camera (at least not without extensive post processing).

It’s not just the camera. You have such an eye! Love these shots. Love the third one – doesn’t need a caption.

Aw, thanks Lynda! I do try and ‘see’ things but I actually find it very hard sometimes 🙂 That third shot with the boots is one of my favourites too…the guy was just on his way to put his boots back on and I was like ‘hold it – I need to take a picture first’. He thought I was weird 😀

I know this isn’t quite the same thing, but I recently purchased a photo app for my iPhone that has a Holga setting. The images turn out surprisingly well and authentic (for a mobile phone app that is) and I am fascinated by seeing the real-deal Holga images here on your blog. I love the 2nd & 3rd shots—great captures!
