Since starting my next sweater I’ve been knitting away like crazy. I don’t like leaving my knitting stuff all over the place though (hello playing kitties!) and realized I needed a bag to put everything needed for this project in one place.
Enter the knitting pouch. I sewed it up in about an hour. Oh, and it took me an hour to decide on the fabrics before that. Choosing fabrics makes me all emotional, ha.
I used this easy peasy tutorial for sewing a zipper pouch and made up the dimensions myself (meaning I sort of eyeballed everything and crossed my fingers it would turn out ok – I’m such a sloppy sewist!).
I love how it turned out! It’s big enough to not only hold the current project but also extra yarn and needles plus the instructions and scissors. Basically it’s a great way to keep everything in one place and take your knitting with you while travelling (and that’s a teaser, just wait for my next post!).

What a sweet pouch! I like the color combo. When I take large projects with me to knit I put it in my totebag, I made a little matching pouch to go with that too, to put it little things like a ruler, siccors, stitchmarkers,…

nachdem ich deinen Blog neulich zufällig entdeckt habe, als ich bei Pinterest über dein Sorbetto-Kleid gestolptert bin, und nun die letzten paar Wochen immer mal wieder mit wachsender Begeisterung in deinem Archiv gestöbert habe (was u.a. den nächtlichen Spontankauf des Salme Lydia Blouse Schnittmusters zur Folge hatte…), dachte ich mir, ich hinterlasse dir heute mal einen Kommentar. 🙂
Mir gefällt sie sehr, deine Stricksachentasche – sowohl optisch, als auch die Idee an sich. Ich bin selber (bislang) mit dem Stricken nie so richtig warm geworden, sondern häkle lieber. Vor allem letztes Jahr, als ich jeden Tag zwei Stunden S-Bahnfahren irgendwie rumkriegen musste, hatte ich auch immer ein kleines Täschchen mit dem jeweils aktuellen Projekt und anderen Utensilien wie einer kleinen Schere oder einer Stopfnadel zum Vernähen der Enden dabei.
Dann bin ich mal gespannt auf deinen Reisebericht!

Sie ist über Pfingsten halb fertig geworden (Ärmel fehlen noch) und musste dann leider erstmal hinter der Klausurvorbereitung zurückstehen… Aber kommt Zeit, kommt Bluse – oder so ähnlich. 🙂

It’s such a neat pouch! I carry my knitting in bags, drawstring bags, plastic bags. And my knitting bits and bobs are in a zippered pencil case. And when I sew, I find that choosing fabric and pattern take way more time than actual sewing 🙂

What a lovely pouch! I use a zipper pouch for my knitting projects too. It is easy to keep everything organized and grab on the go. Specially since I like to knit in the car.

Definitely, I knit in the car too and it’s so nice not to just have to stuff your knitting in your handbag.
