late to the game – my linden sweatshirt

Last! When it comes to sewing patterns I always seem to be late to the game – which is why I only now made my first Linden Sweatshirt.

Maybe I just needed to see everyone else’s first (see Ingrid’s gorgeous Lindens) and read them raving about this fantastic pattern before working up the courage to cut into this lovely striped jersey.

Sewing with jersey used to be one of those things I was always in awe of and it took me a long time to try it. Now it’s pretty much my favourite thing ever!! So easy and quick and when I’m not in the process of threading it I adore my serger!

Now for the pattern: Wow! I love how easy and slouchy and yet elegant this is! I was worried it would look too much like loungewear but it turned out totally wearable and easy to style up with a long necklace and a cardigan (by the way, I have basically been living in that H&M cashmere cardi and scarf all winter – best buys ever).

This pattern works great with stripes or solid colors and is one of those items that gets much wear in my wardrobe. Definitely a keeper! I’ve already worn it a lot and have two more simple Lindens in mind – you know that stage in making where you daydream about a project all day? Sweet 🙂

Have you made a Linden sweatshirt yet? Leave me a link in the comments, I’d love to see them!

Thanks, Ruth 🙂 Sewing is fun (and frustrating sometimes but worth it). Let me know if you’re ever near Düsseldorf and want to meet up – I’ll give you some sewing tipps 🙂

Your Linden looks great! I love casual comfort chic pieces. I haven’t made a Linden yet, I’m so late to all patterns typically. But it’s on my To Sew list for sure. I’ll be sewing an Alder dress first:)

      Thanks so much Sarah 🙂
I haven’t made an Alder yet, but that’s such a lovely pattern too! I am really falling in love with knits after making the Linden and ‘casual, comfort chic’ is exactly what I was going for. Off to sew more knit tops…

I love that sweater and the look too! I have never heard of this Linden sweater. I will have to look in JoAnn’s to see if they have the pattern and I may make it up this fall. I am in the midst of planning our August wedding so I have no time for any extra projects this year 😦 BTW, are you flying over to be our photographer? lolz 🙂 😀

Ah, you still have time to take a trip here to the US. 🙂
We have a photographer already. A friend of my sister’s. She does it more than a hobby than anything else.
Yeah…frankly, this wedding planning thing is for the bird’s! I would not do this over again nor would I recommend planning a wedding to anyone. We have already had three disasters (my dress is too big, the RSVP cards had the wrong date on them, and the cover of the guest book did not have my fiancee and I’s name on it and none of them can be returned) and it is only April and we marry in August… So we are praying nothing else goes wrong between now and then. 🙂

Such a beautiful pattern. I love the fabric you chose. It looks very soft and with a great drape. Your did a wonderful job and looks great on you.
