knitting season

Every year in fall I get the knitting bug. I am not a big fan of counting stitches (or counting and numbers full stop) but I love simple patterns and making scarves or mittens or socks.

This year it’s cowls all the way.

So quick and fun and classy in simple seed stitch.

The yarn is Lana Grossa Alta Moda Alpaca and it’s fantastic, super soft and warm and it smells so good! Like alpacas I guess, like sheep and horses for me…wonderful.

Thanks Amber, I love seed stitch as well. Doesn’t need much attention, almost impossible to do wrong…my kind of knitting šŸ™‚ Though I am in awe of people who can knit cables!

Beautiful! I just did a cable cowl, but am looking for something a bit less time-consuming. Did you use a pattern or improvise?

Thanks Jenn šŸ™‚ I didn’t use a pattern, you really don’t need one for this! Just make a short thick scarf in seed stitch and join the ends together to make a tube.
      Seed stitch goes
      k p k p k p
      p k p k p k
      k p k p k p
I’d love to see your cable cowl!

Haha, simple is the only way I know šŸ˜‰ I’m jealous of everyone who can knit cables and complicated patterns. The Ireland Neck Warmer looks gorgeous, what a great project! Do post pictures of your cowl when it’s done šŸ™‚ And of course of your seed stitch cowl if you decide to make one!

I haven’t yet, it looks pretty daunting šŸ™‚ But I might have a look if I can find a tutorial on youtube, I’d really like to learn it!
