Making time to put up some simple and natural decorations.
I loved these rosemary wreaths on Pinterest and they were very easy to make. We had everything we needed for them on hand, even using up some thin wire that came with frames we bought from Ikea ages ago.
Love this page with different recipes for room fresheners. We made a pot with oranges, cloves, cinnamon and ginger and it really does make a room smell heavenly.
My mom gave us this huge advent wreath she bought at a charity event. I think these wreaths are unique to Germany. They have four candles, one for each of the four advent sundays before christmas, so we get to light one more candle each week. We don’t usually have this because of the cats but so far they have been very good about not eating it. Mind you, the twinkly lights didn’t last more than a weekend before they took them down.
It snowed all day yesterday so outside our windows it’s winter wonderland right now. I’m torn between loving it and worrying because I don’t like driving in snow and I have a photoshoot tomorrow. The cats are pretty unsure about it as well.
Hi Kristina. I really enjoyed this post and these pictures. The pictures of your cats reminded me of something I wanted to share with you I thought you would like. Remember one of my first blog posts I shared a picture of the stray orange tabby cat that lived on our porch when we moved in our apartment here back in August? Well, he kept insisting to come in and one day a couple of months ago we let him in and bought all Tue necessary cat stuff like the litter box, food, etc. We noticed he was sick though for he has the runs all the time. We think he has worms but we can’t afford to take him to the vet. But he is over 20 years old. Our neighbor lady has been here for 20 years and he was here when she moved here. His name is Buddy she told us. He sleeps all the time on our bed. But he will come into the living when he comes out to eat or bathroom for a pet for a few minutes and then back onto our bed. You can go up and pet him and he is quite affectionate. My mom thinks we are crazy/stupid for taking him in with no shots. He loves treats and tuna and if he hears us making dimmer out in the kitchen or even eating he will come out and get quite mouth until you feed him. He does not go outside much now because the weather has turned quite cold but it has snowed once a couple weeks ago but has not stuck. I take a lot of pictures of him when he sleeps for he is cute and I think he kinda poses for them and knows I am taking them. We think he may have some blindness for we will hold treats in our hands and he will have trouble finding them and you have to stick them right in front of his mouth. He is very elusive of strangers. If anyone besides my boyfriend, myself, or my boyfriend’s son comes in the house, he will go viewer in Tue farthest bedroom corner and will not come out of the bedroom for anything. And sometimes, he throws up his food and he throws up, he will run away and hide. Tue same with using the litter box. I always tell him after he throws up that it is ok. That we all get sick sometimes and that it is easy to clean up and pet him and stuff. It is kinda funny but he is very private about the using the litter box. He will not go usually if someone is in there unless he has to go badly. He has only gone once or twice with me in there. He usually will not even go if we are right outside the bathroom. He is a funny, fickle creature but he is smart as a whip. I would be out in the kitchen and away ‘hey Buddy. I got some tuna here. Want some?’ No sooner I have said that he is right there. Or if it is laundry day and I am to either take the sheets off the bed or put them back on I say, ‘hey Buddy. I am coming in a minute to do the bed.’ Not even a minute later here comes Buddy walking out. He is certainly not a stupid cat, just a cautious one. I cannot even begin to imagine how many times over the years he has gone without a meal, been kicked or hit around, sat out in the rain without any shelter, slept out in the cold and bitter wind…and that was I took a chance and let him in our house. I am not fond of cats by any means but I love all animals regards, have compassion for all animals, he is quite low maintaince, and he really is not that bad of a guy and he is growing on me. At least I am not here alone anymore when my boyfriend is at work. We are working on Buddy laying with me. He laid on my chest the other night. That was nice. No animal has ever done that before. But, sorry for rambling on. I just wanted to share that with you since you had commented on the picture of Buddy long ago. My blog has gotten bigger and better. Idk if you have been following it. I have been following your posts. Keep up the good work, dear. I enjoy everything thoroughly. Have a very merry and blessed Christmas to you and yours and a very joyous and prosperous new year. xo

Aw, I’m glad Buddy has found a home with you and finally has a warm place to sleep and food! I hope he’ll be around for a while yet, though 20 is already very old for a cat! Hope you’ll have a wonderful christmas too and a relaxing holiday time š
